First phase of the Project aims at improving provision of safe and sustainable access to water supply of the population of the towns of Straseni and Calarasi.

The expected outputs:

1.     The Main Transmission Pipe (MTP) Chisinau-Straseni- Calarasi is under operation;

2.     The water supplied from the MTP meets the needs of the target population (duration, volume and quality)

The project implementation is supported by the international Implementation Consultant, CES.

In order to strengthen the capacities of the future operators of the new infrastructure, accompanying measures for institutional strengthening will be conducted.

The Project aims at improving the performance and efficiency of water supply and waste water systems in the rayons of Straseni and Calarasi as well as capacity enhancement of Apa-Canal companies of Chisinau, Straseni and Calarasi. It will contribute to improved living conditions of the population and furthermore to a sustainable development of the rayons of Straseni and Calarasi.

The measures will support Moldova in approaching  EU standards and will contribute to the sustainable development goals SDG 3, SDG 6 and SDG 11.
