Although there is now more and more free access to
information, young people in rural areas know very little about the concepts
and laws that could help to reduce corruption.
At local level there is no Local Youth Council where their
voice is heard directly from them by local councillors who come up with
solutions to problems identified in the locality. Young people are an important
segment of civil society, so we want them to be the project volunteers to come
up with new ideas and solutions to the problems they face. Respectively within
the project a series of information and training activities will be organized
to know how to say No to corruption, an online survey will be conducted to know
the opinion and collect suggestions on factors that promote corruption and ways
to mitigate it. Local information campaigns will also be organized, press
releases will be placed on the website and Facebook page of the LPA, NGOs,
leaflets, brochures, and information boards will be developed and distributed.
To increase transparency in the LPA, an audio-video
surveillance system will be installed to broadcast local meetings online in the
locality. And to make it more understandable for everyone, a social theatre
will be organised. The aim of the activity is to tell a real social story about
corruption in different spheres, where young people act out different
situations and the audience will see what they look like from a different
angle, with different eyes.
